The Long Tongue Folks

Gosh, look at the time, I just got home, can you believe it?! I met fen after work today at 7pm. We had dinner at NYDC before heading to Hollywood Secrets for some eyebrow shaping, den we grew roots at Coffeebean from then on till 12 midnight. What did we do? Talk talk talk. About anything and everything. The recent favourite topic of ours are about work. The irritating colleagues, irritating guest/customers. Haa... I guess this is a form of de-stressing from all the work pressure we face daily. Just let it all out without having to worry about this or that. It was really wonderful to just sit and talk to her. You can simply throw everything out.

We were also thinking of the times we spent during our banquet days. One of the most impressive event we had was at Furama, about 30 ~ 40 over tables in their grand ballroom, about 7 ~ 8 tables only managed by 3 staff plus 1 runner. All were experienced staff. We serve like mad clear like mad, but we managed without much sweat since there were teamwork and everyone played a part to help one another out. This kinda teamwork I probably will never get to experience at my workplace since it's so farking political. Worst than the taiwan government. We have the lazy bummers, the mediacorp actress, the 2 faces, the taichee master and so on.

I suddenly realised, what fen said, it's the quality not the quantity that matters. How true. I always tot that phase was only used in relationships. When I first join the hotel, we din have so many staff. But all were powerful people. All played their part. We face the same problems but we were able to cope. With little but all strong team member. Everyone came to work happily. Everyone goes out for supper after work. And I look at my dept now, so many staffing, but so many 'lame ducks' as what my previous boss likes to call them. He always refer them to 'headless chicken running around'. It's technically correct now to use those terms on the reception counter. You see so many staff but... the counter can still be 'busy'. Haiz... I wanna just give up man. Working with all the vase.

Ok, enough of talking... I seriously need to get some sleep before I overslept again tomorrow morning and waste my money on cab fare. Good night everyone. Tomorrow will be a better day. *cross fingers*
